Working at Heights – Safe use of Ladders

Half Day Course (afternoon)

Falls from height are the number one cause of workplace deaths and one of the main causes of major injury in the workplace. Almost a third of falls are from ladders. This Safe use of Ladders & Step Ladders Training Course covers the legislation from the Work at Height Regulations 2005. It provides staff with the general safety awareness needed for safe selection, inspection and use of ladders.

This course involves both practical and theoretical sessions. It will focus on:

• Legislation and Regulations affecting Working at Height

• Hazards affecting the use of ladders and stepladders

• Planning and Organizing

• Assessing risks

• Inspection and Records

• Storage, Handling and Maintenance
