Can you help with the demand for labour?
The lack of labour is a concern for many within the agriculture sector but some farming business may find they have a spare capacity of staff at certain times of year. If this is you, perhaps you might want to consider helping out other members of the Ring.
Offering to supply labour through BMR can be a win-win for both parties; the supplier farm has an opportunity to subsidise its labour costs while keeping its employee busy and offering them additional variety of work and skills development while the member requesting help can plan ahead knowing that they have enough temporary staff to cover busy periods.
It’s important for members to realise that not all businesses are busy at the same time; you may have finished your silage work while others may need extra help with grain, potato harvest or autumn cultivations. We are also keen to speak with members who can offer sickness or holiday cover with livestock.
If you feel you could help out supplying labour to BMR members please contact the office to discuss.
