If you are in the market for an electric pickup that can cover over 200 miles with a 1000kg payload and a wading depth of more than half a metre then you are in luck. The Maxus T90EV is the first electric pickup to hit the UK market.

In order to beat the competition to produce an electric pickup, Maxus has kept the development of the T90EV simple, taking an existing internal combustion model and adapting it for electric drive. The batteries, with a 88.5kWh capacity, have been bolted under the chassis and Maxus has managed to keep the curb weight down to just 2.3t.

However, agricultural users may find the lack four-wheel drive to be an issue; all the power goes to the rear axle (although Maxus has hinted that a four-wheel drive version may be available soon). There is also a 1t towing limit and a with a price tag of £49,950 this may not suit every budget.
